Bridal Veil Falls Trail Description

The hike to Bridal Veil Falls is a short loop through Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park that takes hikers along a beautifully forested trail to visit a scenic cascading waterfall. At a length of only 0.6mi, this trail isn’t going to cut it for hikers that want a longer route, but the falls are a spectacular sight that can easily be experienced if you are in the area and have a half hour to spare. As the falls are located so close to the parking lot, this trail can become extremely busy. It’s best to arrive early to the park to get a parking spot and beat the crowds to this truly awesome attraction.

Other than the spectacular views of the majestic waterfall, this trail offers scenic views of the creek as well as a peaceful forest setting. The trail itself is well-maintained and features minimal changes in elevation, making this a low effort, high reward hike that the entire family will be able to enjoy.

Setting out from the parking area, follow along the forested trail as it heads east and very quickly reaches a junction. Follow the path to the left to make your way along the Woodland Trail, where you will soon arrive at a crossing over Bridal Creek. Make your way over the creek and turn right at the junction to continue on towards the falls.

Here, the trail will climb slightly uphill through the forest until you reach the viewing area for the Bridal Veil Falls. From this vantage point you will be able to gaze out at the immense rock formation and rushing water that cascades over the falls, making it such a beautiful and unique feature in the area.

When you have finished experiencing the natural beauty of Bridal Veil Falls, make your way back down the trail, going left at the fork in the path to cross over Bridal Creek along a different route than you came in on. As you meander through the forest, you will eventually arrive at the initial intersection from the first leg of your hike. Follow the path to the left to wrap up your trek and return to the parking area.

Hiking Route Highlights

Bridal Veil Falls

Often incorrectly stated as being the 4th highest waterfall in Canada, Bridal Veil Falls is actually only the 38th highest waterfall in British Columbia. Water drops 400ft over a wide rock formation, creating a cascading effect that looks like a bride’s veil, hence the name. The falls often freeze over during the winter, making the site a popular but challenging ice climbing destination. From the viewpoint at the bottom of the falls only the lower 197ft246ft are visible.
