Los Glaciares National Park

Region in Argentina

Established in 1937, Los Glaciares National Park is the largest national park in Argentina and features some of the most breathtaking landscapes in South America. The park covers an area of 726,927 hectares that is comprised largely of the rugged Andes Mountains, Magellanic Forest, and the Patagonian steppe.

Anyone looking to visit Los Glaciares National Park will find that the region is a haven for outdoor adventure enthusiasts. Epic hiking routes and glacier treks are the main draw for tourists, who flock to El Chaltén or one of the other adventure hubs in the park in order to witness and traverse one of its 47 glaciers. The name of the park, Los Glaciares, refers to the ice cap that can be found here - the largest outside of Greenland, Antarctica, and Iceland.
