Toronto Map

Formerly known as the town of York, the capital of Upper Canada, Toronto has grown and evolved into a cosmopolitan city that serves as the capital of the province of Ontario. The largest city in Canada and the fourth-largest in North America, Toronto is recognized as an international hub for business, finance, and culture that is home to a diverse population drawn from over 200 distinct ethnic groups.

While Toronto may be a dense urban centre, that does not mean that the city is devoid of natural beauty. Located on the beautiful western shores of Lake Ontario, outdoor enthusiasts can find easy access to watersports and lakeside recreation areas that provide a bit of respite from the chaos of the city. Further inland from the shoreline, residents and visitors alike can make use of countless recreation spaces strewn throughout the city, including the vast swathes of natural landscape along the winding banks of the Humber and Don rivers. A trip to Toronto doesn’t have to mean exploring the downtown core, it can also be a charming adventure through the preserved greenspace that stands in direct contrast to the urban nature of the city.
