Edmonton

Region in Alberta, Canada
Edmonton Map

To outsiders, Edmonton is a sprawling metropolis stacked in a massive fridge but tucked near business-drenched buildings, hipster Whyte Ave, and Oilers’ fans flocking to Rogers Place sits pretty parks like Rundle and the North Saskatchewan River. Despite what people may think, there are a surprising number of walking, biking routes and outdoor activities spanning the city—that are even fun when it’s super cold (okay, maybe not when it’s -40).

While most people don’t flock to Edmonton unless they have a reason, the city paths, North Saskatchewan River, and parks, such as Rundle, give you a reason to enjoy visiting the city. Outside of biking and walking around city paths, there’s always canoeing down the North Saskatchewan River. But if you really want to get out of the city, Elk Island National Park is only a 30-minute drive away.

Lastly, there’s always the option to golf if you want a break from indoor activities!
