Devon Map

Situated between the waters of the Bristol Channel to the north and the English Channel to the south, Devon (also referred to as Devonshire) is a county nestled in the southwest corner of England. Characterized by picturesque coastal landscapes and a rugged interior, Devon has a lower population density than other parts of the country, making agriculture and tourism the main driving forces behind the economy. With a mild climate and varied terrain, the region is a known destination for recreation and leisure, with the resort towns and villages along the southern coast being referred to as the English Riviera.

Devon County is also home to Dartmoor and Exmoor, two beautifully scenic national parks that are often referred to as “The Two Moors”. Each of these feature vast swathes of rugged terrain that is perfectly suited for outdoor exploration and offer the chance to visit historical sites dating back to Neolithic times. In addition to a plethora of scenic walking routes, Devon also offers a wealth of other outdoor activities, including cycling, horseback riding, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, and so much more. If you are planning your next excursion in the English countryside, why not make it in the picturesque landscapes of Devon County.
