Shy Bear Trail Description
The Shy Bear Trail is a moderately difficult hike in Cougar Mountain. It requires some inclines and descents, but it’s still suitable for string beginners and older children. Enjoy the lushness of the forest and the waterfalls and creeks that appear after it rains.
Beginning from the trailhead, take Licorice Fern Trail. At the first junction, go left onto Indian Trail. At the split, go right onto Shy Bear. You can take a quick trip up to the left to the Far Country Lookout before continuing on. At the Y-junction, stay left. The trail continues to Shy Bear Pass, where it terminates. Either turn back and retrace your steps or keep exploring.
