Alberta Peak Hike Description

For beginner hikers or families looking to experience the mountains, the Alberta Peak Hike is a fantastic option that will allow you to take in the natural beauty of the San Juan Mountains and their surrounding landscape.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the south and pass through a tranquil stretch of forest, before breaking free of the tree cover near the edge of the Wolf Creek Ski Area. From here, you will continue on to the south and climb further uphill in order to follow the trail as it bends to the southeast.

After gaining some elevation along the trail, you will traverse the rugged mountainous landscape above the ski runs and pass by the Continental Espresso Bar, which is a great place to stop in for a quick coffee. Keeping on to the southeast, you will quickly arrive at the summit of Alberta Peak, where you will be able to enjoy sweeping views across the Colorado landscape. After taking in the scenery, simply head back along the same trail to wrap up your time on the Alberta Peak Hike.
