Big Bear 2N05 Loop Trail Description

If you don’t mind doing a bit of navigation while out hiking, then the Big Bear 2N05 Loop Trail will be a fun option to explore near San Bernardino. Make sure to display your adventure pass prior to setting out to avoid receiving a fine.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will enter into the cover of the forest and make your way east for a short distance to meet up with the forest service road. Turning to the right, you will follow the road south through the woodland terrain, before changing your direction to the southeast as you gain elevation.

Make sure to keep an eye on your trail map or GPS, as there are many intersecting paths and it can be easy to lose your way. Eventually, you will loop around the hillside and turn to the north, descending through the forest on the return leg of the hike. After turning to the west and then once again to the south, you will climb slightly uphill along the forest service road to arrive back at the trailhead where you began.
