The Cupid Peak Hike is a wonderful introductory hike. A Colorado 13er, the easy-to-navigate terrain and short nature of this trail is an ideal conditioning hike for those seeking to eventually summit a Colorado 14er. Though it isn’t the toughest hike, it does demand stamina!

Cupid Peaks Hike Description

The Cupid Peaks Hike is a breathtaking excursion in the Front Range. This summit hike is ideal for beginners and older children alike. Ensure you are acclimated to the high altitude in the area prior to commencing your ascent and pack plenty of water! Note that this path climbs high elevation along an exposed ridge, so remember to check the forecast prior to your adventure to avoid getting caught in an afternoon storm.

Embark on your adventure from the Mount Sniktau trailhead. From the trailhead, track northeast up the Mount Sniktau Trail. Ascend the steep, rocky terrain to the mountain saddle. From the junction atop the saddle, turn right and hike along the windy ridge on the Grizzly Peak Trail. Scramble up the rocky terrain to the summit of Cupid Peak. From atop the peak, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the Front Range region and the Loveland Pass below. Take a breather and enjoy the weather prior to beginning your return.

If you are seeking to lengthen your journey, then simply continue along the Grizzly Peak Trail to Grizzly Peak’s summit. Whether you add on the Grizzly Peak extension or not, simply retrace your steps along the route back to the trailhead when you are ready to return.
