This route begins in Buffalo Park and travels off the mesa to Paradise Spring, which is a pleasant spot for a picnic, some bouldering, or just to relax. Expect moderate traffic on this hike.

Buffalo Park is the most popular park in Flagstaff and, despite being easy to get to, it feels far away from the city. With an imposing view of Elden Mountain, this hike is a lovely trip. The Buffalo Park to Paradise Spring hike leads you through the park to a lovely area called Paradise Spring. This is a great trip for families and those who want to do some relaxing at their midpoint.

There are restrooms, water fountains, and picnic tables available for your use. These routes are well-marked and well-maintained, so you shouldn’t require GPS navigation.

From the trailhead, walk the rest of N Gemini Drive into the park, crossing through the big entry gate with a buffalo statue standing out front to greet you. Continue along Arizona Trail-Flagstaff all the way through the park and out the back, turning right on Forces of Nature Trail. This will lead you to Paradise Spring. Spend some time here before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
