Pumphouse Nature Trail Description

The Pumphouse Nature Trail is a short hike with pleasant forest and field views. This route is lined by signage that teaches you about the forest uplands and the flora and fauna that live here. It can be a nice place to look for birds or animals, especially since it doesn’t get very busy.

This route is well-defined and easy to follow. You shouldn’t require any navigational aids. While the trail is easy, it’s likely too narrow and uneven for strollers.

From the trailhead on the road, hike east alongside the Pumphouse Wash. The trail follows the wash the whole way, passing through the forest and into pretty open fields, sometimes dotted by wildflowers in the summertime. When you reach the trail’s end at Kachina Trail, turn around and retrace your steps to the trailhead.
