Bear Creek Falls Description
Bear Creek Falls is a popular hiking route in Glacier National Park that hugs alongside Connaught Creek on the way to the majestic, rushing waters of Bear Creek Falls. This short trail travels along some easy terrain, making it a great route for hikers of all skill levels; however, it does contain a relatively steep set of stairs down to the falls that might restrict accessibility for some. If you are looking for a low effort/high reward trail, then a visit to this stunning waterfall should absolutely be on your list.
Setting out from the parking lot, follow along the forested trail as it heads northeast before gradually turning south to follow alongside the rushing waters of Connaught Creek. When you get near the falls, you will need to descend roughly 328ft to reach the viewpoint close to its base. As the falls are very powerful and release moisture into the air, the path can become slippery. Watch your step as you approach the falls and toss on a rain jacket if you don’t want to get wet. After taking in the natural beauty of this spectacular rock formation with its cascading water, carefully climb back up the path to make your way back to the Bear Creek falls parking area.
