Parkhurst Ghost Town Trail Description

The Parkhurst Ghost Town Trail passes through a stretch of woodland on the way to an abandoned logging camp that has been vacant since the 1960s. While there is only one cabin still standing, the site offers an insight into logging operations in the area as well as the living situation of its workers. This makes the hike an ideal trek for those with historical interests. Besides the old logging camp, this route also has some great mountain views and comes close to Green Lake, making it a great option if you are looking for a shorter hike close to Whistler that has some interesting sights.

Setting out from the parking area, make your way west along the road to cross over Wedge Creek, continuing along the trail as it runs parallel to the rail tracks. After 1640ft, the trail will turn south and cut through the forest. From here, it will cross over a creek before meeting up with a junction in the trail. Take the path to the right to cross over the creek once again, setting off on a short loop that visits the remnants of the old logging settlement, as well as lookouts over Green Lake.

After exploring the area and completing the short loop, cross back over the creek and follow the trail straight to continue along the route in an eastward direction. Reaching a junction with the Green Lake Loop, take the path to the left and follow it until you meet up with the service road. The last stretch of the Parkhurst Ghost Town Trail will take you northeast along the service road until you arrive back at the starting point of your hike.
