19 Mile Creek Trail to Iceberg Lake Description

The 19 Mile Creek Trail to Iceberg Lake passes through the dense forests northwest of Whistler and is an area that is frequently populated by bears. Because of this, trail closure during the summer months can be a common occurrence, so make sure to check the status of the trail before setting out on your hike. Additionally, parking at the trailhead on Mountain View Drive is not permitted 9AM-5PM during weekdays from November to March. Hikers wishing to utilize the trail during these times will need to find alternate parking arrangements nearby to avoid being ticketed. Parking and trail closures aside, this route has some beautiful lakeside views and is a great half-day hike in the Whistler area.

Setting out from the trailhead, follow along 19 Mile Creek Trail and keep straight through the first three junctions. When you approach a four-way intersection in the trail, take the path to the left to follow closely alongside the waters of 19 Mile Creek. As you climb uphill through the forest, you will reach a junction with the Rainbow Sproat Lake Trail. Follow this to the left, keeping on it for a few metres before picking the 19 Mile Creek Trail back up on your right.

As you continue to make your way uphill, you will cross over a series of streams on the way to Iceberg Lake. Keeping straight along the trail, the dense cover of the forest will eventually break as you enter into a beautiful alpine meadow. Continue following along 19 Mile Creek until you reach the striking glacial waters of Iceberg Lake. Take some time to explore this awesome mountaintop scene before making your way back down along the same route, having completed the 19 Mile Creek Trail to Iceberg Lake.
