Rattlesnake Loop Description

The Rattlesnake Loop is a beautiful hike just east of Salt Lake City, Utah. This trail does have some steep and rugged sections, so proper hiking footwear is strongly recommended. If you are hiking this trail in the winter, a pair of traction devices such as microspikes are great to have for the icy sections. Dogs are allowed to join you on the Rattlesnake Loop but must be kept on-leash on even-numbered days of the month. This hike is easily accessible from the city and is a great way to go for a morning or evening hike through the beautiful Uinta-Wasatch Cache National Forest.

From the Rattlesnake Gulch Trailhead, follow the path north along Rattlesnake Gulch, then take your first left to a divide. This divide marks the beginning and end of the loop section. Take a left to hike the loop clockwise and stay right at the subsequent divides until you find yourself back where you started.

When you’ve completed the loop, simply follow the path south along Rattlesnake Gulch to bring you back to the Trailhead.
