Big Cottonwood Canyon Trail Description
The Big Cottonwood Canyon Trail is a short, family-friendly hike in Cottonwood Heights. This trail is beautifully maintained with sections that are stroller and wheel-chair friendly. This trail can get quite icy in the winter, so we recommend wearing traction devices such as microspikes if you are heading out at that time of year. Dogs are welcome to join you on this trail but must be kept on a leash for the duration of their hike. The Big Cottonwood Canyon Trail is a lovely, relaxing stroll along Big Cottonwood Creek. If you are looking for a place to take an early morning walk before work or enjoy an evening stroll, this trail is for you.
From the parking area, cross over Wasatch boulevard and follow the well-marked trail for about a mile. After approximately a mile, simply turn around and retrace your footsteps back to the trailhead.
