The Falstone and North Haul Road is a lengthy adventure in Northumberland that will take you along a quiet road for views of a charming lake. While out walking the trail, you will leave the village of Falstone behind while meandering along North Haul Road, enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding forests and nearby Kielder Water in the process. Walkers should remember to wear comfortable footwear and keep an eye out for passing vehicles, as the entirety of this route follows the road.

Whether you are looking to experience some scenic lakeside views or simply walk a long distance trail with little in the way of difficult terrain, the Falstone and North Haul Road Walk will be sure to have you covered. 11.4miThis route follows a quiet road for its duration, so be sure to exercise caution if you are travelling with children or dogs.

Setting out from the trailhead in the lovely village of Falstone, you will take North Haul Road to the northwest to get out into the countryside. Here, you will pass through some beautiful swathes of woodland landscape, as the road winds its way around the hillside.

As the route runs nearly parallel to the shoreline of Kielder Water, you will experience some beautifully scenic views across the lake at a number of points throughout your adventure. After reaching the endpoint of the trail, simply turn back along the road and follow it back into Falstone, reliving the beautiful scenery on the return leg of the journey.
