The Preston Hill and Cold Law Circular Walk is a wonderfully scenic - if rugged at times - adventure in Northumberland that offers beautiful views of the undulating landscape. While out walking the trail, you will climb uphill to traverse several hilltop vantage points, before looping around the moor on the return. Parts of this walk are poorly marked and feature rough terrain, so make sure to wear proper walking boots and bring a GPS/trail map and compass for navigation.

Preston Hill and Cold Law Circular Walk Description

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life while exploring the rugged border regions between Northern England and Southern Scotland, then Preston Hill and Cold Law Walk in Northumberland will be the perfect route for you.

Setting out from the car park, you will follow the road to the southwest for a short distance, before breaking off to the north to cross over New Burn and Hawsen burn. From here, you will climb uphill across the summits of Broadhope Hill and Preston Hill, where you wil;l enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

After traversing Great Moor to the northeast, you will follow the path as it loops around to the southeast across the tops of Hawsen Craggs and Cold Law for some more amazing views overlooking the valley. Once you have taken in the sights, carefully descend the steep slope of the hill to the south, working your way along the valley floor to eventually return to the car park where you started.
