Ravenscar Coastal Path Trail Description

If you are looking for a quick and relatively easy adventure in North York Moors National Park that will allow you to experience local wildlife while taking in stunning views of the coast, then the Ravenscar Coastal Path is a great option to do so. As this area does traverse some coastal terrain, be sure to check tidal times in advance of your walk.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northwest and begin your descent of the hillside on the way towards the coast. Lower portions of the trail can be tricky to navigate, so take your time down the steep and rocky trail.

Arriving at South Cheek, you will have amazingly scenic views of the North Sea, in addition to the 300-strong seal colony that often congregates along the shore here. Keep an eye on children and dogs while walking near wildlife and obey the posted signs for your safety. After taking in the views, simply head back the same way that you came.
