The Kirkbymoorside and Gillamoor Walk is a great outdoor excursion along the southern edge of North York Moors National Park that will take you through the countryside for stunning views of the surrounding landscape. While out on the trail, you will cut across open fields to reach the village of Gillamoor, before descending through the forest for a return along the River Dove. Sections of this trail can be quite mudy, so make sure to wear proper footwear.

If you are after a pleasant walk through the countryside that features charming villages, picturesque farmland, tranquil forests, and lovely riverside settings, then you will certainly want to give the Kirkbymoorside and Gillamoor Walk a try on your next visit to the North York Moors.

Setting out from the market town of Kirkbymoorside, you will make your way northwest to traverse the open farm fields before you on the way into the village of Gillamoor. From here, you will head to the southeast, entering into the forest as you descend the hillside into the valley below.

After meeting up with the winding banks of the River Dove, you will continue on to the southeast and enjoy the tranquility of the forest, before climbing back uphill on the return to Kirkbymoorside where you began the walk.
