Upper Summit Trail Description

The Upper Summit Trail sets out from the parking area next to Balsam Lake and climbs uphill to the viewpoints at the top of Mount Revelstoke. This is a fairly easy hike through stretches of forest and alpine meadows that provide hikers with numerous opportunities to survey the surrounding landscape. Arriving at the summit, you will be able to explore the area around Heather Lake, as well as the two viewpoints known as the North and South Parapets. From here, you can look out across the valley and view the rugged mountains off in the distance. At other points along the route, you will be able to look out into the wild expanse of Mount Revelstoke National Park for some truly spectacular views. This moderate trail is a great starting point from which you can explore the area on top of the mountain.
