Eva Lake Trail Description
Hiking through Mount Revelstoke National Park along the Eva Trail is a pretty straightforward affair due to the relatively easy terrain and moderate 1617ft of elevation gain. Still, hikers should come prepared with proper hiking footwear and any additional gear, such as hiking poles or microspikes, that they might need for the 9.3mi journey. As grizzly bears are fairly active in the region, you should make sure to travel in groups and carry bear spray to avoid any potentially dangerous encounters.
You will hike through a nice mix of terrain that includes dense stretches of forest, beautiful alpine meadows, and some rocky paths along the trail. After a short detour from the main trail to visit the charming waters of Miller Lake, the hike continues north to arrive at the picturesque area around Eva Lake eventually. From here, hikers will have some breathtaking views that stretch across the small body of water and look out into the vast expanse of the park. After you’ve taken in the scenery, head back down the same route to return to the parking lot at Balsam Lake or set up your camp for an adventurous overnight stay in the mountains.
