Silver Forest Trail Description

This short, simple trail offers fabulous views of Emmons Glacier, Mount Rainier, and a sea of wildflowers. You can take the ultra-short walk to Emmons Vista or press on further to the trail’s end depending on your desired effort.

From the Sunrise parking lot, take the Sunrise Rim Trail south. Stay left at the fork and stop to admire Emmons Vista. Continue along the trail, enjoying wide views of the mountains and the lush meadows on either side. This arm of the trail eventually terminates, so you can hike it as long as you like or all the way to the end before turning back. Enjoy!
