Lundy to Oneida Lake Trail Description

Depending on the time of year you are considering doing the Lundy to Oneida Lake Trail, the mosquitoes along the route can be rather prolific. We therefore recommend bringing bug repellent with you, and wearing both long sleeves and pants if you are planning on doing the route in the springtime. It is also suggested that you wear a good pair of hiking boots and that you protect yourself from the effects of the alpine sun with sunscreen and a hat.

Having arrived at the trailhead, follow the Lakes Canyon Trail as it makes its way west along the southern shore of Lundy Lake. The pathway will begin to deviate south from the shoreline, inclining in elevation as it goes. The Lakes Canyon Trail will soon deliver you to a junction within the trail, where you will continue on along the Lakes Canyon Trail by taking the southern pathway.

Steadily inclining in elevation, the Lundy to Oneida Lake Trail will veer south and begin to make its way alongside Mill Creek. The Lakes Canyon Trail will then cross Mill Creek and follow it along its western side before arriving at Crystal Lake. At Crystal Lake, continue on Lakes Canyon Trail by taking the western pathway at the junction. After a few hundred feet, the route will deliver you to Oneida Lake. Take some time to rest and enjoy the sightlines before backtracking your steps towards the trailhead.
