Getting there

To get to Two Medicine Lake Loop Trail from East Glacier Park Village, head West on Midvale Street toward MT-49 North, and turn right at the first cross street onto MT-49 North. After 3.5mi, turn left onto Two Medicine Road, and after 7.2mi, take your first left and then your first right, and you will arrive at your destination.

Two Medicine Lake Loop Trail Description

The hike through Two Medicine Lake Loop Trail takes you through many different areas, providing a collection of beautiful views. This is grizzly bear territory, so be sure to make a lot of noise and carry bear spray with you.

Two Medicine Lake Loop Trail is a popular hike that takes you around mountains, down to lakes, reveals waterfalls, and has you climbing through avalanche chutes. It is visually stunning and is worth the longer trek.

Beginning at Two Medicine Lake, the early stages of the hike are in an open forest that boasts many different types of trees. At 0.6mi, you will cross a bridge, and 0.2mi later, you will reach a junction. When you arrive here, turn left if you want to head to Twin Falls and Upper Medicine Lake. There are many trails intertwined into this area, so it depends where you want to go!

Heading to Twin Falls and Upper Medicine Lake, you will cross over Two Medicine Creek; you will soon see the Twin Falls. When you are done here, continue to follow the trail signs to complete the circuit.

If you are looking for a longer hike, you can trek to Upper Two Medicine Lake, in which case you would follow the trail signs that lead to that area of the wilderness.
