Skunk Canyon to Fisher Point Description

The hike through Skunk Canyon to Fisher Point is a great, mostly flat route on the edge of Flagstaff near the Walnut Canyon National Monument. You’ll travel through a scenic canyon on a very relaxed trail, appreciating the rock layers and the interesting habitat that the canyons in this region support. This route is awesome when the flowers are blooming.

This hike gets hot in the summertime and snowy/icy in the wintertime. Bring lots of water and consider microspikes if you’re out in the off-season.

Beginning from the trailhead, the route is very easy to follow. You’ll enter Skunk Canyon and follow it all the way to its intersection with Walnut Canyon. As you go, appreciate the pools, creek, birds, and layered walls of the canyon. Hang a left and then make the short climb up to Fisher Point for the view. From here, retrace your steps to the trailhead.
