Dry Lake Hills Hike Description
The Dry Lake Hills hike is a very quiet, chill hike north of Flagstaff. This route hardly gets any visitors, so try it out on a day when you’re wanting as much of the trail to yourself as possible. Despite seeing little traffic, the route generally remains very easy to follow. Expect it to be a bit dusty, though.
This hike shows off the beauty of the forest, with aspens and pines lining your route. For that reason, it’s a good fall hike. You’ll also enjoy some mountain views as you go.
From the trailhead, take Schultz Loop Trail to the fork, then stay right. After the creek, go left onto Little Gnarly Trail. Stay right at the next fork and continue to follow the creek. Take a right onto the Dry Lake Loop Trail past the water, where the route terminates at the Dry Lake Hills. From here, turn around and retrace your steps.
