Spruce Grove Campground Trail Description

Whether you are after a fun day hike, are camping overnight along the trail, or simply want to visit a beautiful waterfall, the Spruce Grove Campground Trail is a fantastic adventure to be had in Southern California.

Setting out from the Chantry Flats Parking Area, the trail will lead you to the northeast and into the rugged terrain of the Santa Anita Canyon. Here, you will hike parallel to the Big Santa Anita Creek, taking in the beautiful views of the landscape before arriving at Sturtevant Falls.

After taking a few moments to appreciate the natural beauty of the falls, continue along the trail as it heads northwest around the lower slope of Mount Zion to reach the endpoint of the route at the Spruce Grove Trail Camp. From here, you can either set up your camp or head back along the trail, keeping right at the fork just before the falls in order to take a slightly different route back to the trailhead.
