McCloud Middle Falls Hike Description
There is something special about a waterfall hike, don’t you think? This short but scenic adventure down to the waterfall is worth adding to your adventure itinerary, trust us! Enjoy wonderful vistas of the charming cascade from the observation deck before plunging down to the riverbanks. In the summer months, you can cool off in a slow-moving pool beneath the falls! Note the road to the trailhead is subject to seasonal closure in the winter months, but explorers can still enjoy this adventure by simply parking at the gate and walking into the trailhead.
Setting out from the trailhead, the McCloud Middle Falls Trail wanders south to the observation deck. Here, you will be granted impressive views of the waterfall below. Admire the scene, and when you are ready, hike west along the McCloud Falls Trail down a set of switchbacks. Enjoy the sights of the lush tree canopy that shades the trail, and you will soon reach the riverbank.
Revel in the overwhelming views of the mesmerizing cascades that pour over the sheer cliffside and let the relaxing sounds of the water soothe you. If you are hot, hop into the pool beneath the chutes and cool off. When you are ready to head back, backtrack along the path to the trailhead.
