McKinley Park Loop Trail Description
McKinley Park offers a shaded forest escape in urban Tacoma, providing a perfect spot to hike, run, take the dogs out, or hit the playground with your kids. This loop is quite easy, especially if you go counterclockwise, and it can be combined with other trails in the park if you want a longer adventure.
Begin from the park entrance near the playground. You’ll take the obvious trail to where it splits. Going counterclockwise is easier and requires less incline, so we recommend taking the trail on your right. The trail immediately splits again, so keep right. You’ll take the Strawberry Hill Trail around the perimeter of the park, then turn to get on the return trail on the opposite side of the park. This will take you back to where you started.
