Little Nellie Falls Trail

Hiking the Little Nellie Falls Trail is a more secluded, tranquil experience in Yosemite National Park. Wander along a dirt road shared with off-roading vehicles and mountain bikers to the charming waterfalls that cascade from down from Little Crane Creek. As you hike, be sure to keep an ear out for passers-by and don’t get too distracted by the breathtaking scenery. Note: the terrain is mostly exposed, so wear sun protection to avoid the effects of over-exposure! Embark on your adventure along the Little Nellie Falls Trail from the intersection of the Old Yosemite Coulterville Road and Muir Way. From here, take the leftmost Old Yosemite Coulterville Road. This route will guide you northwest along the dirt road lined with mixed forests and open meadowlands. From the exposed sections of the path, you will be granted wonderful views of Yosemite Valley in the east, including distant views of the Half Dome. The route will gradually climb before descending into the falls.

Enjoy the sights of the charming cascades and rejuvenate your tired feet in the chilly waters. When you are ready to return, simply retrace your footing along the route back to the ‘trailhead’ where your vehicle is parked.
