Mariposa Cabin Trail Description

Hiking the Mariposa Cabin Trail makes for a magical adventure in Yosemite National Park. Wander through the lush forest adorned with gigantic, ancient sequoias to the Galan Clark Cabin and Museum, which divulges all you need to know about the area’s history and ecology. Note: Unfortunately, there is no parking at the trailhead, so visitors are required to park at the Mariposa Grove Welcome Plaza and take the free shuttle or walk to the trailhead. Additionally, Yosemite National Park charges an entrance fee, check out the NPS website for more information.

Embark on your epic excursion along the Mariposa Cabin Trail from the intersection of Mariposa Grove Trail and Perimeter Trail. From here, track northward along the Perimeter Trail, which is also shared with horseback riders, so make sure to keep an ear out for passers-by! The route will gradually climb through the forest of enormous sequoias. You will soon reach the Galan Clark Cabin/Museum and, if it is open, head in to learn more about the fascinating history and ecology of the area.

If you still have some gas left in the tank, then feel free to explore the grove further! If you are ready to head back, simply retrace your steps back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
