Ribblehead and Chapel le Dale Walk Description

If you enjoy taking in stunning views of the countryside while walking through easy-going terrain, then the Ribblehead and Chapel le Dale Walk will be perfect for you. Setting out from the car park, the trail will lead you to the northwest to pass underneath the historic Ribblehead Viaduct. After admiring the complex architecture of the arched viaduct, continue along the trail as it bends to the southwest to traverse the open countryside on the way to the village of Chapel le Dale.

After crossing over Chapel Beck and passing by the historic St Leonard’s Church, follow the path to the north in order to climb gently up the hillside towards the moor. Once you have reached the steep slopes at the foot of Whernside, you will turn to the northeast on the return leg of the walk that will produce some beautifully scenic views across the dale. Eventually, the trail will turn to the southeast, once again passing by the viaduct before bringing you back to the car park.
