Keld Waterfall Walk Description

If you love taking pleasant riverside walks and are looking to experience some of the breathtaking waterfalls that can be found within the Yorkshire Dales, then look no further than the beautifully scenic Keld Waterfall Walk. Visiting a number of cascading waterfalls along the winding banks of the River Swale, this easy walk is the perfect route to keep the entire family entertained and engaged outdoors.

Setting out from the village of Keld, the trail will lead you initially to the northwest, taking you to the banks of the River Swale to view the beautiful Catrake Force and several smaller waterfalls before looping back to the trailhead. From here, you will pass through the village and follow the road to meet up with B6270, following it to the northwest until you reach a viewpoint overlooking Wain Wath Force. Backtrack a short distance along the road and follow the lane on the left to cross over the river.

Once you are on the opposite bank, you will climb gently uphill along the winding road and pick up a footpath on the right to visit Currack Force. Continue on to the southeast, traversing the hillside and taking in the scenic views of the surrounding landscape, as you work your way to East Gill Force. After taking in the views, head back across the River Swale and follow it into the village of Keld to return to the trailhead.
