The Beamsley Beacon Trail is a quick and easy adventure in the southeast corner of Yorkshire Dales National Park that climbs uphill for scenic views. Along the trail, you will head uphill and make short work of the sloped terrain, reaching the summit of Beamsley Beacon for sweeping views of the moor to the east and the sprawling green fields to the west. This amazing adventure is perfectly suited for a fun family excursion.

Getting there

To reach the trailhead for the Beamsley Beacon Trail from Bolton Bridge, head east on A59 for 0.4mi and turn right onto Beamsley Lane, following it for 0.3mi. Continue straight onto Lowfield Lane for 456ft, before making a left onto Lanshaw Bank. After 1.1mi, you will find the car park on the right.

Beamsley Beacon Trail Description

While it may be a quick walk, the Beamsley Beacon Trail is certainly an adventure that the family won’t forget anytime soon. Gently climbing terrain and a commanding view of various landscapes make this an exciting route that can be enjoyed by all.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way east and immediately begin climbing up the hillside, working through the rugged terrain of the moor until you arrive at the summit of Beamsley Beacon. From here, you will enjoy a great sightline across this southern tip of the Yorkshire Dales. After taking in the views, simply head back along the same route.
