Hidden Lakes Trail Description

Although the Hidden Lakes Trail may only be a short hiking route, it will see a fair amount of foot traffic due to the fact that it utilizes the popular Iceline Trail to reach the lake. Make sure to arrive early enough to both secure parking and beat some other hikers out onto the trail. Additionally, you will only be able to hike this trail during the summer, when the Yoho Valley Road is accessible to the public. If you are thinking of coming up to the area, it is absolutely worth getting a campsite near Takakkaw Falls and exploring a few of the great routes that can be found nearby.

Setting out from the car park, the trail will lead you to the southeast along the Yoho River before crossing over Whisky-Jack Creek and Yoho Valley Road. From here, you will make your way uphill through a beautiful stretch of forest, following a switchback trail until you come to a path on your left branching off to the south. Take this path and follow it a short distance to arrive at the charming woodland shores of Hidden Lakes, where you will be able to spot a few rugged mountain peaks peaking out above the canopy of the trees. Take in the views and explore the area around the crystal clear lake before turning back to retrace your steps to the trailhead where you began your adventure.
