Pterodactyl Loop Trail Description

Although a relatively short trail, the Pterodactyl Loop is an amazing adventure that can easily be turned into a full day of exploration due to the countless trails that branch off from the main route and meander through the forest. The route sets out from the parking area next to Connor Park and heads north into the dense cover of the forest. As the trail winds through this picturesque woodland landscape, you will be surrounded by a wide variety of plant and animal life that really seems to make the forest come alive. Make sure to keep an eye on your GPS, as there are a lot of intersecting trails along the route that can pull you away from the main path. Continue along the trail as it rounds the northern portion of the loop and turns back to the south on a route through the Welcome Woods Wilderness Park. From here, you will hike along the edge of the forest and make your way back through Connor Park to return to the trailhead.
