Halfmoon Loop Trail Description
Hiking along the Halfmoon Loop is a great way to get out for some easy exercise while enjoying the beautiful forest atmosphere along the Sunshine Coast. The trail sets out from the Trout Lake Picnic Area and heads west into the forest before turning toward the north to meet up with a junction. From here, take the path to the right to set out on a loop through the scenic forest terrain. As there are some intersecting trails along this route, you might want to bring a trail map or GPS in order to stay on the correct path, although it isn’t a complete necessity. Reaching the northernmost part of the trail, you will come to a powerline clearing through the forest. Continue along the trail as it turns to the southwest and re-enters the shady protection of the tree canopy for the return portion of the loop back towards the trailhead.
