The Levette Lake Loop is an 6.8mi hiking route north of Squamish that will take hikers through a densely forested area to the woodland shores of Levette Lake. This moderate hike offers great views and pleasant terrain for the casual hiker.

Getting there

To reach the trailhead for the Levette Lake Loop from Squamish, head north on BC-99 and make a left turn onto Squamish Valley Road. Continue on for 3.7mi and turn left onto Levette Lake FSR. In 0.7mi you will arrive at the trailhead.

Levette Lake Trail Description

The Levette Lake Loop is a picturesque hike through the dense forests north of Squamish, BC that will take you on an 6.8mi journey to the tranquil shores of Levette Lake with a return trip through a beautiful stretch of woodland terrain. The trail offers a nice variety of terrain including forested paths, rocky stretches of trail, forest service roads, creek crossings, and outcrops from which hikers can view the nearby Tantalus Mountain Range. Reaching the tranquil shores of Levette Lake, you will have the opportunity to explore the area and take in the spectacular views over this woodland body of water.

While the route only contains a moderate elevation gain of 300m, the trail is rocky in stretches and does include stairs, meaning that this might not be the best route for families with young children or strollers. However, the small amount of incline and variations in terrain make for a great moderate hike with some awesome views that can be enjoyed by both casual and experienced hikers alike. This trail offers a great escape near Squamish that isn’t too difficult for a moderate-length afternoon or weekend stroll through the woods.
