Redwood Canyon Loop Hike Description

Kings Canyon National Park is known to have a similar ambiance and terrain to Yosemite, but the Redwood Mountain Grove sets the two parks’ apart—among other things. The Redwood Canyon Loop Hike is an impressive loop through the monstrous trees and enjoy wonderful overlooks of the mountainous wilderness. Don’t forget to bring your camera! Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Embark on your adventure along the Redwood Canyon Loop from the Redwood Canyon Trailhead. Setting out from here, follow the trail south to the Redwood Saddle, then turn left onto the Redwood Canyon Trail. At the following intersection, keep left, and you will be diverted onto the Hart Tree Trail, which intersects with Redwood Creek to the Cabin Tree. Eventually, you will be led past the Hart Tree and the Fallen Goliath and back down to Redwood Creek. Here, turn right onto the Big Springs Trail, then left onto the Sugar Bowl Trail.

The Sugar Bowl Trail will guide you up the walls of Redwood Canyon through the sequoias and up to the ridge. Soon the route will redirect you north and all the way back to the trailhead.
