Grizzly Falls Trail Description

The Grizzly Falls Trail is a short, scenic adventure in the Kings Canyon National Park that boasts countless photo opportunities. Though just a few steps away from the Byway, the trail is rocky and uneven, so careful footing and sturdy pair of footwear could save you a rolled ankle. The Grizzly Falls are a year-round cascade, though the spring and early summer are the best time to visit as the snowmelt and winter rain increase the water flow! Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Your journey along the Grizzly Falls Trail begins from the carpark off the Scenic Byway. Setting out from here, adventurers will be guided northwardly away from traffic and into a scenic picnic area. We encourage you to eat lunch here, amongst the towering conifers and the beautiful cascade, if time and weather permit. From here, the sound of the surging water will intensify but continue north through the forest adorned with granite outcroppings. Soon the path will open to Grizzly Falls.

Admire the grandeur and beauty of the cascade that flows over 75ft down the craggy canyon wall. Mind your footing on the rocky terrain as you explore the base of the chute. Snap a few photos and enjoy the hypnotic scene before retracing your steps back to the parking lot.
