Crescent Meadow Loop Trail

The Crescent Meadow Loop Trail boasts a relaxing experience for hikers of all skill levels and ages to enjoy. Trace the perimeter of the swathe of meadowland often abundant with grazing deer. Enjoy the opportunity to do some birding and marvel at the grandeur of the looming giant sequoias. Note this route sees a modest amount of traffic, but early mornings and evenings tend to offer a more tranquil experience. Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Your journey along the Crescent Meadow Loop Hike begins from the trailhead and parking lot off Crescent Meadow Road. Setting out from here, follow the High Sierra Trail south, over Crescent Creek, to a picturesque overlook of Crescent Meadow in the north. Revel in the beauty of the lush vegetation framed by the towering conifers, then merge onto the Crescent Meadow Loop Trail. This route will lead you north along the eastern border of the meadow to the Cleveland Tree and Chimney Tree. Here, turn left onto the Tharp’s Log Trail and onto the Huckleberry Trail.

This path travels along Huckleberry Meadow to another junction; turn left here. Follow this route south to the Crescent Meadow Road. Beyond this point, travel east along the shoulder of the road back to the trailhead and parking lot.
