Paradise Creek Trail Description

Hiking this route makes for an enchanting experience, and it is one of our favorite trails in the National Park. Much of the route is exposed, boasting awe-inspiring vistas of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The unshaded path also warrants extreme conditions, so check the forecast and dress accordingly. Additionally, it is important to be mindful of snakes along this path, as well as bears and deer grazing in the encompassing meadowlands. Note entrance to the park costs $35USD per vehicle or $20USD per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Your adventure along the Paradise Creek Trail begins from the Buckeye Flats Campground. Setting out from here, you will be directed southeast along the Paradise Creek Trail over the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River. Beyond this point, the trail hugs the curves of Paradise Creek, weaving between meadows of flowering meadows and shaded tree stands. From the exposed segments of the trail, you will be granted mesmerizing views of the Castle Rocks and Paradise Peak.

After a few miles of trekking, the Paradise Creek Trail will culminate with an overlook of the creek canyon. Revel in the beauty of the encompassing mountainous landscape, head back and retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
