Camp Creek National Recreation Trail Description

If you are after a rugged hiking adventure in Southern California that features steep terrain and saves all of the elevation gain for the end of the journey, then you will want to explore the Camp Creek National Recreation Trail. Make sure to display an adventure Pass when setting out on your hike.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will want to keep to the left, as heading the opposite direction will lead you into a drainage that will be difficult to get out of. The terrain here is overgrown, but it is still manageable, so just take your time as you descend through the forest and into the canyon below.

After carefully navigating the steep terrain, you will eventually arrive at the Siberia Creek Trail Camp at the confluence of Bear Creek and Siberia Creek. Following the latter to the southeast, you will climb slightly uphill to arrive at the endpoint of the hike where it crosses the creek.

From here, you can turn back along the trail and follow the same route back up and out of the canyon, completing the most difficult portion of your day on the return to the trailhead.
