Aspen Grove Trail Description
The Aspen Grove Trail is a fun little trail in Southern California that features laidback terrain, but just because it is easy does not mean that you should show up unprepared. Make sure to wear proper hiking footwear and bring plenty of water and snacks for your excursion. Additionally, you will need to obtain a permit prior to exploring the beautiful landscape of the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area, which can be done online for free.
If you are in the mood for a relaxing hike that isn’t strenuous at all and features beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness, then the Aspen Grove Trail is a great option to explore. The laidback terrain is suitable for the entire family and dogs as well, just make sure to keep them on a leash.
Setting out from the parking area, you will follow the trail as it leads south for 0.3mi and crosses over Fish Creek to arrive at a junction. Taking the path on the left, you will run parallel to the creek as it leads southeast, offering views of the surrounding trees and mountain peaks.
Continue along the path for the next 1.7mi, taking in the natural beauty of the stands of Aspen trees that are fairly uncommon in the landscape of Southern California. Eventually, you will arrive at the endpoint of the route where it joins Fish Creek Trail.
Here, you can continue exploring the area by extending your hike along one of the paths, or simply head back along the same route to return to the trailhead having completed the Aspen Grove Trail.
