The Twin Lakes Trail Description
The Twin Lakes Trail is a beautiful hike in Brighton, UT. This trail may be short, but it is steep and very rocky, making proper hiking footwear is essential. In the early spring and late fall the path up to these lakes gets very icy, so we highly recommend wearing traction devices, such as microspikes, if you are heading out at that time of year. The Twin Lakes Trail is one of the most popular routes in the area, so be prepared to share the path with lots of visiting tourists, especially in the peak of summer when the wildflowers are in full bloom. Forest wildlife can often be seen roaming along this trail and, if you are lucky enough to catch sight of moose, or deer, or any other critters, make sure to give them plenty of space and do not feed them.
From the Silver Lake Visitors Center, follow the path as it loops around the north side of Silver Lake before heading south down to the Twin Lakes Reservoir.
Take a rest at the reservoir and enjoy a snack surrounded by the beauty of the forest. When you are ready, turn around and follow the same path back to the trailhead.
If you are not ready to head home, you can continue exploring the area from the Twin Lakes Reservoir by following the Brighton Lakes Loop.
