The Mormon Pioneer Trail Description

The Mormon Pioneer Trail is a beautiful hike through the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. This trail is long, so if you are looking to hike the whole route in one day, be sure to start your day early and bring along a headlamp in case you wind up finishing your hike in the dark. On this hike you will pass by the Affleck Park Campground and the Mormon Flat Campground. It is important to note that there is no potable water available at either of these campgrounds, so be sure to bring along enough water for your hike or a method to treat water along the way. With 18 miles of trail through the beautiful Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, the Mormon Pioneer Trail is a wonderful way to spend some quality time enjoying the beauty of the Utah wilderness.

From Little Dell Reservoir, follow the Mormon Pioneer Trail as it runs parallel to highway 65 before heading east to the Mormon Flat Campground.

At the Mormon Flat campground you can either set up a tent and break up your hike over a couple of days or turn around and retrace your steps back to the Little Dell Reservoir where you began.
