The Ben Lomond Section of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail is a beautiful hike in North Ogden, Utah. This trail is moderately challenging, with some steep and loose sections. Arrive prepared with proper hiking footwear and bring along hiking poles if you’d like the extra support. There is little-to-no shade along this section of trail, so be sure to lather on the sunscreen, wear a sunhat, and bring along more water than you think you’ll need; you don’t want to get sunburnt out there. The Bonneville Shoreline is a multi-use trail popular with hikers, trail runners, dog walkers, and mountain bikers. When hiking, keep your eyes peeled, and your ears perked for mountain bikers and allow folks to pass you by. To ensure everyone’s safety, please respect the area regulations and keep your pup on a leash for the duration of your hike.

To hike the Ben Lomond Section of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, begin at the Bonneville Trailhead on the northeastern side of North Ogden Canyon Road. Then, follow the trail as it winds northwest along Powerline Road all the way to the Bonneville Shoreline Trailhead on West 4600 North. This trailhead marks the end of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail: Ben Lomond Section. At this point, turn around and follow your footsteps back to where you started.

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail is a community initiative to build a trail that spans from the Idaho border all the way to Nephi, Utah. The proposed trail will cover over 280.0mi of the Utah Landscape. As of 2022, just over 100.0mi of this trail has been constructed with the help of dozens of volunteers.
