Stewart Falls Sundance Trail Description

The Stewart Falls Sundance hike is a gorgeous route outside Aspen Grove, Utah. This trail is very popular, especially on weekends, so we suggest saving this hike for a weekday or arriving early if you are looking for some peace and solitude at the falls. The Stewart Falls Sundance Trail can be hiked all year round; however, this trail gets extremely icy in the fall, winter, and spring. Therefore, if you are hiking outside of the summer season, we strongly recommend wearing a set of traction devices such as microspikes for extra grip on the ice.

There is a very good reason for this trail’s popularity; this route is absolutely gorgeous, and the view of Stewart Falls will leave you breathless. The climb up to the falls is rocky and steep in some sections, but at the top, you will be greeted by a cool mist coming off of the falls that will refresh your body and soul. For an especially spectacular experience, we recommend hiking this trail in autumn when the surrounding forest is aglow with the colors of fall.

To hike the Stewart Falls Sundance Trail, start at the northwest corner of the Sundance Resort Parking lot. Cross over the North Fork of the Provo River at head southwest along the Stewart Falls Trail. Continue west along the Stewart Falls Trail for 1.8mi to the Falls themselves.

Take a long rest at the falls and admire their beauty before turning around and following the same route back to the trailhead.
