Stewart Cascade Trail #056

The Stewart Cascade Trail #056 is a moderately challenging hike to a beautiful waterfall just outside of Aspen Grove, Utah. This trail is very popular with hikers and trail runners especially on weekends. We recommend arriving early to snag a parking spot and beat the crowds. Dogs are allowed to join you on this trail but please respect the off-leash and on-leash area signage, and please clean up after your pup. If you hike this trail in the winter, we strongly recommend wearing a set of traction devices such as microspikes as this trail does get icy.

All year round, the Stewart Cascade Trail #056 offers hikers a beautiful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life. This trail travels though thick, lush forest before emerging at the stunning Stewart Cascades. The hike up is a little steep and can be strenuous at times but the views along this trail are entirely worth it.

From the Mount Timpanogos Trailhead, take the path that heads southwest over the North Fork of the Provo River. Follow the path east for 0.3mi to a divide. At the divide, take the trail on the right to head south. Continue south for 0.4mi to a second divide, stay right once again and continue for another half mile to the Stewart Cascades.

Take a rest at the cascades and admire the beauty and power of the waterfalls. When you are ready to head home, turn around and follow your footsteps back to the trailhead.
